The Institute for Family Health Expands Diabetes Prevention and Education Services

April 01, 2014

Diabetes education teaches patients with, or at risk for diabetes, how to manage their condition and modify behavior to improve health outcomes. The Institute’s Diabetes Care Team includes physicians, certified diabetes educators and care managers who focus on all aspects of diabetes care.

“Diabetes education is not a lecture on what a patient should or shouldn’t do,” said Donna Gibbons, Clinical Nurse Specialist. “The Institute’s program offers real-life guidance and support to show patients how to manage their diabetes. Our Diabetes Care Team offers advice on everything from proper portions to taking medication correctly.”
