The Institute’s Dr. Ephraim Back Awarded NYSAFP’s 2018 Educator of the Year Award

Congratulations to Dr. Ephraim Back who was recently awarded the 2018 Family Physician Educator of the Year award by the New York State Academy of Family Physicians (NYSAFP). Established in 1991, the NYSAFP’s Family Physician Educator of the Year Award is designed to “recognize persons, who in the opinion of the Academy, have made outstanding contributions to education for family practice in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education spheres.” The award was presented at the Congress of Delegates of the NYSAFP on June 23rd.
Dr. Back has worked as residency program director for the Mid-Hudson Family Medicine Residency Program since 2013. He has a passion for training physicians for full spectrum family medicine within the context of community and public health. He has 17 years of family medicine residency training. Dr. Back believes that the Institute’s three residency programs offer residents unique opportunities to more fully develop the skills expected of family physicians in the 21st century.
