Telehealth: Get the care you need from home
June 29, 2023
In addition to our in-person services, if you have an immediate care need, we offer video visits through our telehealth department. Our telehealth department offers patient-centered primary care to address your immediate health needs more quickly, often the same day. If you need care for a health need but you would prefer to stay home or do not feel well enough to travel to your health center, you can meet with a provider through video with a smartphone, tablet or computer.
Telehealth visits can get you the care you need when you have a minor sickness or complaint that you can solve through a video visit. You can also use telehealth to connect with a provider if you are experiencing an unexpected health need related to a chronic condition, such as diabetes or high blood pressure. These visits are a great way to access care in between regular in-person visits where we can comprehensively address all of your health needs.
Much like the care that you receive at one of our health centers, you will first connect with a medical office assistant (MOA), who can prepare you for your visit, obtain vital signs, and go through any health screenings. From there, your provider will join the video call and give you the care you need, answer any questions, or refer you for more care if needed.
Telehealth visits are available to our patients of all ages and most insurance plans cover telehealth. In our telehealth department, providers and staff collaborate with your health center as an extension of your care team. When you meet with a provider in our telehealth department, the provider will have secure access to your Electronic Medical Record, so they can provide you with the personalized care you need.
