Nurse Shniece Bhola-Jaikaran wins DAISY Award

May 28, 2026

The Institute was pleased to recognize Nurse Shniece Bhola-Jaikaran, RN, of the Pine Street Family Health Center, as the winner of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This award, which draws from nominations from patients, staff and community members, recognizes the care and dedication that nurses show toward our patients. On May 5, Nurse Bhola-Jaikaran was honored at an awards ceremony at Pine Street.

Here is an excerpt from Nurse Bhola-Jaikaran’s nomination (edited for clarity):

“Thank you so much for making my first visit to the Institute a positive experience! I tend to get a tad nervous with blood draws, so it made an enormous difference to be surrounded by such caring and attentive health care providers. At a time when so many people lack quality health care, and many people who have health care access feel like a “number”, it’s a true gift to be able to make patients feel comfortable and supported. I look forward to my next visit!”
