National Faith and Health Website
In 2008, the National Center for Minority Health and Disparities provided funding to Bronx Health REACH to spearhead a national effort to assist community and faith-based organizations in establishing effective partnerships with health care providers to eliminate health disparities. Bronx Health REACH convened a roundtable conference bringing together experts in medicine, research, and community outreach, with leaders from various faith communities nationwide. Participants discussed lessons learned based on their varied perspectives working with faith-based health collaborations and identified research issues which would be helpful in identifying best practices. The product of that collaboration is a bilingual website designed to provide information to both faith-based and health care organizations interested in partnering to eliminate health disparities.
