The main inpatient training site for the Mid-Hudson Family Practice Residency Program is WMCHealth – HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley. HealthAlliance is a secular, not-for-profit hospital serving the health care needs of the community. The new state of the art 150-bed acute-care hospital provides medical/surgical care, ambulatory surgery care, diagnostic imaging, emergency services, obstetrics, and acute and chronic renal dialysis services. Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital

Training Sites:
Residents receive their family medicine ambulatory training in one of three federally qualified health centers operated by the Institute for Family Health. These sites provide comprehensive primary and behavioral health to patients of all ages.
Kingston Family Health Center
The Kingston Family Health Center is located in a culturally diverse hub in the Mid-Hudson Valley. As New York’s first capital, Kingston mixes modern living with beautiful historical districts. Residents at this location care for an urban/suburban population that faces significant barriers to accessing healthcare. There are 18 residents that practice at Kingston Family Practice (6 from each year) and there will be a 3:1 resident to attending ratio on a given day. Services offered here include behavioral health, pediatric, dental, podiatry and diabetic education. Residents will gain experience in suboxone prescription, nexplanon and IUD removal/placement, joint injections, I&D, OMM and gender identity services. This clinic is located 5 minutes from HealthAlliance Hospital. Because of the close proximity to the Kingston city center, residents who practice at the Kingston Family Health center are exposed to a diverse patient population and pathology.
New Paltz Family Health Center
The New Paltz Family Health Center is located on Main Street, near the bustling heart of New Paltz. That being said, with just a short drive you will find yourself surrounded by farmland. At the New Paltz Family Health Center we care for an underserved, suburban/rural population that faces significant barriers to healthcare. Services available include behavioral health and diabetic education. There are 6 residents that will call this their home clinic (2 from each year). On a typical day there is a 3:1 resident to attending ratio. Residents that practice here will gain experience in suboxone prescribing, Hepatitis C and HIV management, nexplanon placement/removal, IUD placement/removal, I&D and OMM. Additionally, with SUNY New Paltz in close proximity there are numerous educational, recreational and social opportunities. New Paltz Family Health Center is located 30 minutes from HealthAlliance Hospital.
Ellenville Family Health Center
Ellenville Family Health Center is located next to Ellenville Community Hospital, providing our patients with a central hub for their medical needs. This clinic is surrounded by charming views of rolling hills and lush forest. Residents care for an underserved, rural population that faces significant barriers to healthcare. There are 6 residents at this location (2 from each year) with 3:1 resident to attending ratio each day. Services available to patients include dentistry, podiatry, behavioral health and diabetic education. Residents will gain experience in suboxone prescribing, Nexplanon and IUD removal/placement and I&D. Ellenville Family Health Center is a 40-50 minute scenic drive from HealthAlliance Hospital. Residents here have the opportunity to work with patients of all ages with a wide range of conditions at a facility that embraces the true nature of family medicine.
