How to Apply

Apply to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Program (Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine)

All applications must be submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS™). No paper applications will be accepted. We accept applications for six PGY1 positions from September 1st through December 13th.

The Residency Program Director and a selection committee composed of faculty and current residents review all applications. Of particular interest to our program are demonstration of an understanding of the principles of family medicine and commitment to working with urban underserved communities.

Please note: Applications from international medical school graduates (IMGs) must also be submitted through ERAS.

FAQs:

  • The applicant must have graduated from medical school less than 5 years ago.
  • The applicant must have passed their USMLE Step I and II (or COMLEX Step I and II).
  • Clinical experience in the United States is not required but helpful.
  • International Medical Graduate applicants must have a valid ECFMG Certificate.

We offer Jl Visas. We do NOT offer HI visas.

The program does not offer pre-match. We believe in the match providing the best outcomes for applicants and programs.

We are unable to offer observerships.
