Yuliana De los Santos

Dr. Yuliana De los Santos was born in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic and moved to the South Bronx, NY at the age of five. She attended University at Albany, SUNY where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed her medical education at New York Institute of Technology, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. Before entering medical school, Dr. De los Santos worked as a Certified Spanish Medical Interpreter, which afforded her the opportunity to assist communities with limited English proficiency to communicate with medical providers. While in medical school, she organized and participated in multiple community health fairs to provide primary health care screenings for the underserved communities in the New York City area. Dr. De los Santos also had the opportunity to travel to Peredo, Haiti to provide basic medical care at a local clinic as part of the Global Health Certificate program at NYIT-COM. These experiences reinforced her desire to improve the delivery of care to underserved, culturally diverse communities. Dr. De los Santos is excited to be back working at the Mid-Hudson Residency program — this time as a resident — since her rotations as a fourth year medical student. From then, she knew this program would allow her to grow into becoming an excellent family medicine physician.
