A little about me

In college, I studied international relations and economics, and had the opportunity to work abroad in urban and rural areas throughout the Middle East and North Africa. I saw the disparities that existed, especially with regards to women’s health, which inspired me to pursue medicine. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to engaging with organizations at home that focus on many of the disparities I saw abroad. I’ve worked in addressing the social determinants to health with Project Health (Health Leads), comprehensive women’s healthcare with the Women’s Community Clinic in San Francisco, and the barriers within the realm of reproductive health care with Access: Women’s Health Justice.

Why I love my job

I believe that health is a basic human right and I get to immerse myself in this work daily. Family Medicine allows me to pursue all of my interests without sacrificing the things that I have always loved most about medicine, namely hands on patient care and patient relationships.
