Professional Experience and Accomplishments
Dr. Susan E. Rubin is the reproductive health research director at the Institute for Family Health and associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She provides patient care as a family physician at the Institute’s Amsterdam Family Health Center. She has conducted numerous health services studies focused on improving provision of full scope reproductive health care in primary care practices.
Dr. Rubin went to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and completed her residency at the Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Medicine (now the Mount Sinai Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine). Post residency, she completed a Family Planning Fellowship and the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program (ECRIP) at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine as well as an MPH from Columbia University School of Public Health. Prior to joining the Institute in 2016, she was an Associate Professor, research faculty and Associate Director of the New York City Research and Improvement Networking Group (NYCRING) in the research division of the Department of Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and a family physician at Westside Family Medicine.
