Why I love my job
I care deeply about addressing inequities in healthcare, and reaching communities who are underserved by the medical system. I believe that I can best work towards solutions to these problems by building long-term relationships (with both colleagues and patients) via longitudinal primary care.
Professional Experience and Accomplishments
Dr. Seshat Mack was born and raised in Harlem, NYC, and completed their undergraduate education at Howard University in Washington D.C. Dr. Mack then returned to New York City to enroll in the M.D./Ph.D. program at Mount Sinai, and completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with Dr. Lakshmi Devi in 2020. Their research has implications for the treatment of opioid use disorder.
In 2022, Dr. Mack completed medical school and began residency at the Institute for Family Health. Their professional interests include queer healthcare, HIV medicine, and full-spectrum reproductive health care.
