A little about me

I am faculty and director of integrative medicine at the Mount Sinai Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine, and Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I am a Bravewell Fellow and Associate Fellow of the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine. I am director of the pilot program of the Integrative Medicine in Residency, and am working on a project to teach integrative medicine to 3rd and 4th year medical students rotating through the family medicine clerkship. I have an integrative medicine practice at the Institute for Family Health at 17th Street, where I use the electronic health record to aid in providing integrative medicine within an underserved location.

Professional experience & accomplishments

Dr. Raymond Teets is faculty at the Mount Sinai Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine, and assistant professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at The Institute for Family Health, as well as the Integrative Medicine in Residency curriculum.  He currently serves as secretary on the board of directors of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health.  He has experience in clinical outcomes research for Integrative Medicine, and is currently site principal investigator for an NIH-funded study on acupuncture. His integrative medicine practice provides primary care integrative family medicine within an underserved setting. He has a strong interest in nutrition, herbs and supplements, and mind-body medicine. With a background in philosophy, Dr. Teets also is interested in how the medical paradigm can be rethought to improve mind-body medicine, e.g., in situations where patients present with unexplained symptoms.
