Professional experience & accomplishments

Dr. Olivia Perlmutt is a board certified family physician who completed advanced training in reproductive health care and health services research. After moving from Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she grew up and completed medical school, she completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Center for Family and Community Medicine at Columbia University. She conducted her fellowship in research with a focus on reproductive health care at the Institute for Family Health while also getting her MPH at CUNY in Community Health. During this time she and her Institute colleagues won the best poster award for the National Abortion Federation Annual Conference for research on abortion provision in primary care. While her passions for all of outpatient family medicine stay strong, her specific interests in reproductive health care and adolescent health care stand out. She is one of the medical liaisons for the School-Based Health Programs run by the Institute for Family Health. She enjoys teaching immensely, and was elected Faculty Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 class.
