Professional Experience and Accomplishments
Dr. Michelle Bejar grew up in South Florida in an Argentine home. Dr. Bejar obtained a Master’s in Public Health at UC Davis, where she focused on health care reform and accountable care organizations. After graduating from the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Medicine, she worked as a research fellow at the Institute for Family Health. Her research focused on medical errors and patient safety culture. She now works as the Director of Patient Safety, at the Institute for Family Health, where she works to improve our culture of safety, minimize adverse events and improve safety culture. She is the Medical Director at Urban Horizons Family Health Center.
