Professional experience & accomplishments
Dr. Michela Isono was born and raised in Oakland, California. She attended Claremont McKenna College and then became a healthcare consultant at a firm in New York City that focused on widening access to primary care medicine in the United States. Dr. Isono subsequently completed a Post-Baccalaureate program at New York University in Pre-Medical Sciences and attended medical school at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Coming from a professional background in healthcare policy and business, she is acutely aware of the ever-changing landscape of our healthcare system and how this impacts access to and engagement with quality healthcare. As a family medicine physician, Dr. Isono is devoted to utilizing her prior knowledge of diverse methods of care delivery to advocate for health equity, improve health literacy, and work in partnership with her patients to develop integrative treatment plans that are tailored towards their unique needs.
