In the Spring of 2018, I received the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from the Columbia University School of Nursing. I have also presented at various professional conferences across the nation, including STFM (Society of Teachers in Family Medicine) and at NONPF (National Organization for Nurse Practitioner Faculty).

A little about me

I am the director of the Institute’s Family Nurse Practitioner Fellowship. Since 1994, I have provided primary care at the Institute’s Walton Family Health Center, where I still maintain an active patient panel. I have been responsible for the development of interdisciplinary models of care at the Institute, such as diabetic shared medical visits in both English and Spanish. I have also been a champion of the CenteringPregnancy and CenteringParenting Programs at the Institute and work very closely with both programs.

Professional experience & accomplishments

Margaret Walsh is the director of the Institute’s Family Nurse Practitioner Fellowship. Since 1994, she has provided primary care at the Institute’s Walton Family Health Center in the Bronx, where she still maintains an active patient panel. She has been responsible for the development of interdisciplinary models of care at the Institute, including several curriculums for group medical visits that have been expanded throughout the Institute, such as diabetic shared medical visits in both English and Spanish. FNP Walsh has also been a champion of the CenteringPregnancy and CenteringParenting Programs at the Institute and works very closely with both programs.
