A little about me
Madison Lopez was deeply influenced by her family’s legacy in medicine. Growing up, she was exposed to primary care by her grandfather and father, both esteemed family medicine physicians dedicated to serving under-represented communities. Inspired by their advocacy and commitment to justice, she pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on social justice in healthcare. As president of the Multicultural Association of PreHealth Students, Madison led initiatives to promote diversity among healthcare providers and address social determinants of health. Her journey continued at St. George’s University School of Medicine, where she further cultivated her passion for primary care and preventative medicine. Now joining the Institute, Madison is eager to build trusting relationships with her patients and collaborate towards achieving equitable, high-quality healthcare for all. She firmly believes in addressing social determinants of health as fundamental to realizing everyone’s right to optimal well-being. Outside of medicine, Madison Lopez finds her greatest joy in her family and friends. Originally from Houston, TX, Madison called Brooklyn home for the past few years before recently relocating with her partner to Manhattan. They have been delighting in NYC’s vibrant culture, frequenting local bookstores and enjoying comedy shows. Madison also enjoys playing strategic board games, thrifting for unique home decor and staying active with Peloton rides.
