Professional experience & accomplishments

Lisa Schaffer was born and raised on a dairy farm in  Northeastern Pennsylvania. She obtained her bachelors degree from Dickinson College in 2007. After graduating, Lisa moved to Vermont where she worked in administrative positions at the University of Vermont College of Medicine followed by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences where she developed their academic advising program. During this time, she obtained her Masters Degree in Education and her certificate in health care management. Wishing to work in direct patient care, Lisa obtained her nursing license and worked as a bedside nurse on a medical surgical unit while obtaining her Masters degree in nursing.  After graduating from UVM, Lisa worked as a hospitalist at UPMC in Pennsylvania for several years before joining IFH in 2017. Lisa is an avid hiker, skier and gardener!
