For the last six years, Katie worked with critically ill infants and their parents as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where she discovered her passion for connecting with families, evidence-based care, and health promotion. From this experience, she appreciates the importance of a holistic understanding of each patient’s family to their care and community health. The role of the nurse practitioner aligns with Katie’s desire to promote health and wellness for patients of all ages and diverse backgrounds, especially for those who are underserved. As a provider, Katie’s mission is to collaborate with patients and their families to comprehensively care for their physical, mental, and emotional health.
