Professional Experience and Accomplishments
Ms. Donahue is a born and raised New Yorker. She worked in the NYCDOHMH for five years as a nurse home visitor for the Nurse-Family Partnership Targeted Citywide Initiative working with new families living in the shelter system. Ms. Donahue is also a certified lactation counselor, and speaks Spanish. Prior to becoming a nurse, she was a student activist and worked as a union organizer representing custodial workers, hotel workers, and resident physicians. She is interested in social and economic justice, public health, and political advocacy. She believes that each person knows what is best for their self, and takes satisfaction when patients feel that they are in control of their health.
