Professional experience & accomplishments

Dr. Menendez is a full-spectrum family medicine physician with a particular focus on reproductive health and gender-affirming, trauma-informed health care. She currently practices both general medicine at the Institute for Family Health, as well as inpatient medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital. She is also a provider in the Institute’s Trauma-Informed Linkage to Care Clinic, where she provides primary care to people who have experienced human trafficking, sexual assault, or other forms of sexual violence, including medical evaluation of asylum seekers. She is passionate and active in medical advocacy, particularly through the American Academy of Family Physicians, and leads the advocacy committee in the residency program.  Dr. Menendez enjoys teaching both residents and medical students at the same residency program from which she graduated.
