Professional Experience and Accomplishments
Janice (pronouns: she/her) earned her MSW from SUNY Albany. Prior to her career as a clinical social worker she earned her Master’s degree in Business Administration and worked in the field of finance. During that period she volunteered with an organization that provided free services for families to manage and recover from financial hardships. Inspired by that work she committed herself professionally to helping vulnerable populations. This lead to a career change and the decision to earn her MSW. Since earning her MSW she has worked for the Institute for Family Health in the behavioral health department with a focus on primary and behavioral health care integration, addressing health disparities, education on the importance of trauma-informed practices, and LGBTQ+ health. Her professional interests include community health & wellness, LGBTQ+ health, preventative care, integration of primary and behavioral health care, and supporting family systems. In her spare time she enjoys rock and ice climbing, trail running, snowboarding and adventuring with her four sons and partner. Traveling and chocolate also fill much of her free time!
