Professional Experience and Accomplishments
Dr. Gabrielle Surick grew up in northern New Jersey. She graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, with a major in the Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities, and wrote her honors thesis on narrative medicine. She received her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. While there Dr. Surick continued to work in the overlapping fields of narrative medicine, ethics, and community based research, and was selected by her peers to the Gold Humanism Honors Society. The Institute for Family Health is where she fell in love with Family Medicine and its biopsychosocial approach to medicine, and she is excited to be working in the Harlem community.
