A little about me
My name is Andrew Labadie and I have been working in the Behavioral Health Department at the Institute since early 2021, starting out at our 17th St location and now at the Murry Bergtraum High School health center. As a queer person, I place emphasis on spreading knowledge and awareness around LGBTQIA+ topics to help best serve our patients. In the therapy room, I want to build on the strengths that our patients already have to aid in improving their unique version of health and wellness.
Why I love my job
Working as a mental health clinician allows me to connect with others in such impactful ways. When our patients invite me in, I am privileged to see the “good”, the “bad”, and everything in between. Seeing folks in this capacity is a constant reminder of our humanity, our capacity to love fiercely, and all that can be achieved through meaningful relationships. I am moved and grateful to witness growth on a daily basis.
