Professional certifications or affiliations

Andrea Cole, PhD, LCSW, completed her BA in Psychology at the University of Virginia in 2002. Following graduation, Andrea moved to Boston and worked at Judge Baker Children’s Center at Harvard Medical School, where she conducted longitudinal research focused on attachment and resilience as well as coordinated the center’s IRB. Next, Andrea completed her MSW at Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, focusing on clinical and global social work. Upon graduation, Andrea moved to New York City and practiced as a social work clinician at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens. Due to Andrea’s long-standing interest in research and evidence-based practice, Andrea then enrolled in the PhD program at New York University Silver School of Social Work, graduating in 2017. Since then, Andrea has maintained a dual role as the Behavioral Health Coordinator at the Institute for Family Health as well as an Implementation Specialist at the Center for Practice Innovations at New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia Medical School. She is also the Chair of Institutional Review Board at the Institute for Family Health. Andrea’s areas of research interest include youth and young adult engagement in mental health services, traumatic experiences and trauma symptoms, intervention research, and implementation science. Andrea is a practicing clinician, trainer, and mom.
