A little about me
As a first-generation physician devoted to the intersection of social justice and medicine, I am passionate about meeting my patients exactly where they are, regardless of their familiarity with the healthcare system. Having grown up all over the United States in a mixture of rural, suburban, and urban settings in the South and Midwest, I feel comfortable navigating cultural nuances and building rapport with all kinds of people.
I completed my undergraduate education at Columbia University in the City of New York, earning a degree in Neuroscience and Behavior. I have served as a Community Health Specialist in Peace Corps Paraguay and researched at Washington University’s Alzheimer Disease Research Center in St. Louis before beginning my medical training. At the University of Missouri School of Medicine, I led numerous initiatives focused on improving LGBTQ+ healthcare, enhancing BIPOC student experiences and revamping sex education curriculum in local middle and high schools. I graduated a member of the Gold Humanism Honors Society and the Rollins Society, and received departmental honors for my commitment to family medicine and patient-centered care.
I am honored (and thrilled!) to serve as a family medicine physician, who will fiercely advocate for her patients, both inside and outside of clinical settings.
Why I love my job
Providing primary care is my dream job! Interactions with patients fuel my extroverted nature, community care appeals to my passion for social justice and advocacy, and the rewarding challenge of tailoring evidence-based medicine to my patients’ unique needs satisfies me intellectually!
