New insurance options are now available in New York

Many patients may qualify for free coverage or financial assistance to help with the cost of these new health insurance plans. The new “New York State of Health” Marketplace website will help you pick a plan that best meets your needs, the needs of your family, and your budget. Using the same application, you can also see if you now qualify for Medicaid.

Buying health insurance is especially important now. Health insurance helps you afford your health care and avoid paying a large amount of money if you get seriously ill. Starting January 1, everyone is required to have insurance or pay a tax of up to $285.00.

The Institute for Family Health’s centers accept Marketplace plans from Affinity Health Plan, Health First, and Health Republic.
