Institute’s Teaching Health Center program featured in KFF Health News

Dr. Robert Schiller, the Institute’s President of Academic Affairs, and Dr. Diana Perez, a family medicine resident in the Harlem Residency in Family Medicine, were both quoted in an article in KFF Health News highlighting the Teaching Health Centers Graduate Medical Education program. Although the program has proven successful in preparing physicians to provide primary care in medically-underserved areas, Congress must continually reauthorize the program’s funding — unlike hospital-based residency programs, which receive guaranteed funding each year.
