Dutchess County Healthy Families Program Breastfeeding Awareness Walk

The Institute for Family Health’s Dutchess County Healthy Families Program recently hosted their annual Breastfeeding Awareness walk and reception in honor of World Breastfeeding Week. Drawing on the 2011 theme of Talk to Me! Breastfeeding is a 3D Experience, the program was sponsored by the Dutchess County Breastfeeding Coalition and numerous local agencies. Globally, World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated in over 120 countries, during which supporters work in their communities to promote breastfeeding awareness. This year’s awareness walk, which attracted women and families from across the county, culminated in a poster making contest, a community celebration, food, games, and bra fittings for nursing mothers.
