What is Narcan?

Naloxone (also known as Narcan®) is a safe medication that can save someone’s life by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose. It only works on opioids, such as heroin, pills and fentanyl, but it is safe to use even if opioids are not present. If you are worried you or someone you know may be at risk of an opioid overdose, you can learn how to use Narcan to help prevent overdose.

You can also speak to your provider if you would like more information about Narcan.

Sign up for a training

We offer regular trainings in how to use Narcan to prevent overdose. Our trainings are free, take place on Zoom (unless otherwise noted), and take around 30 minutes. Once you have completed a training, you can get a free Narcan kit mailed to you.
