Immigrant Health Initiative

The Immigrant Health Initiative focuses on decreasing health disparities among foreign-born New Yorkers, regardless of their immigration status, by focusing on three goals: promoting access to health care, dismantling cultural and language barriers to needed healthcare; and increasing access to resources and interventions. The initiative addresses cultural and language barriers through the distribution of culturally appropriate printed materials. It also assists immigrant victims of trauma and exploitation.

Through community outreach in large immigrant communities in the Bronx we provide the necessary resources and information for undocumented immigrants to get access to health care and preventative services, health insurance, and pro bono legal consultation as needed which include services offered by the Institute for Family Health, New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and Public Health Solutions.

Our community outreach team continues to connect vulnerable immigrant communities with the services, resources and assistance needed to improve their overall health.
