[VIDEO] Einstein Student Volunteers “Get More than They Give” at Free Clinic in the Bronx
May 16, 2015
New York, NY (May 16, 2015) – In 1999, medical students at Albert Einstein College of Medicine approached The Institute for Family Health with the mission of providing uninsured Bronx residents access to healthcare. The volunteer students and the Institute operate the Einstein Community Health Outreach (ECHO) Free Clinic on Saturdays at our Walton Family Health Center in the South Bronx. Underserved patients in the Bronx and beyond now have access to free comprehensive primary care. Einstein students, under the guidance of attending physicians, get hands-on experience running every aspect of the clinic from the front desk to patient care. Many students say the most gratifying benefit is the personal connections they make with patients.
