The Institute will offer free online Overdose Responder Trainings to mark International Overdose Awareness Day

August 27, 2021

On August 31st, the Institute for Family Health will join a global community in acknowledging International Overdose Awareness Day. Since 2001, this annual campaign has marked the last day in August as a time when we remember the lives lost to overdose all over the world and allows us to raise awareness to the devastating impact that substance abuse disorder has in our communities.

For the next four weeks, the Institute will offer free online Overdose Responder Trainings. Attendees will learn how to identify the signs of an overdose and how to respond using Narcan (also known as naloxone). These trainings are open to all patients and community members.
