The Institute receives Epic Honor Roll distinction for excellence of its electronic health records system

August 28, 2025

The Institute is thrilled to announce that we have achieved “Honor Roll” at the Cum Laude level from Epic System Corporation, the provider of the electronic health record system used at Institute health centers. The distinction was announced at Epic’s recent user conference in Wisconsin.

The Honor Roll recognizes health organizations’ efforts to improve electronic health record use for providers and patients, as well as other metrics. The program evaluates organizations based on nine categories: Ease of Use for Providers, Ease of Use for Nurses, Enterprise Data and Analytics, Financial, Health Information Exchange, Infrastructure, Patient Experience, Population Health, and Staying Current. In 2024, 17% of all Honor Roll-eligible organizations were named to Epic’s Honor Roll program.

Additionally, two of our executive staff have been elected to Epic advisory boards: Dr. Sarah Nosal, the Institute’s Vice President for Innovation and Optimization and Chief Medical Information Officer, was elected to Epic’s Primary Care Steering Board, and Elizabeth Lever, the Institute’s Chief Information Officer, was elected as the Co-Chair of Epic’s FQHC Advisory Board.

The Institute has integrated the electronic health record system into our care since 2002, and was one of the first federally qualified health center networks in the country to do so. We are proud to receive this recognition for our commitment to providing top-quality care regardless of patients’ ability to pay.
