The Institute for Family Health celebrates National Health Center Week

August 19, 2026

On August 2-8, The Institute for Family Health joined health centers across the country in celebrating National Health Center Week. This annual event highlights the commitment and passion of health center patients, staff, board members, and supporters who make it possible for health centers to provide effective, comprehensive care to patients across more than 17,400 communities nationwide.

This year, on Wednesday, August 5, the staff at our 17th Street location in Manhattan hosted a health fair outside the health center, which brought together different Institute service providers and local partner organizations, as well as the community. There were stations where guests could receive free health screenings, schedule appointments for vaccines and physicals, and participate in activities. Children who attended also received free backpacks and school supplies. This event was generously sponsored by Lenox Hill Radiology, and partner organizations who attended were the New York City Department of Health, Exact Sciences Cologuard, TD Podiatry, Elm Drugs, Alliance for Positive Change, the McBurney YMCA, and Mount Sinai Mammovan.

Additionally, staff at the Ellenville Family Health Center hosted Mayor Evan Trent, Wawarsing Town Supervisor Joseph Stoeckeler, and Andrea Rodriguez and Tiffany Santiago of Family of Ellenville. We are grateful to our local elected officials and partner organizations for taking the time to visit us.

Many thanks for all who joined us in celebrating National Health Center Week!
