Remembering Dr. David N. Mesches

We are saddened by the passing of Dr. David N. Mesches, a tireless champion for healthcare access and health workforce development in the Mid-Hudson Valley. A distinguished family physician, he turned his private practice into the foundation of the Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute, an organization that dedicated itself to serving the underserved in the Mid-Hudson Valley. He also started the Mid-Hudson Family Practice Residency program, attracting numerous physicians to the region. The Institute for Family Health’s mission is greatly inspired by Dr. Mesches’ vision and legacy, and in 2007, the two Institutes merged, creating a network of 30 locations in New York City and the Hudson Valley. In 2015, the Institute named its New Paltz Facility the David N. Mesches, MD Health Campus. In his honor and memory, we rededicate ourselves to his vision and his work. He will be greatly missed.
