A new report from The Urban Institute found that Medicaid reimburses just 70% of the cost of care provided by New York State’s community health centers. This budget shortfall leads to inevitable financial pressure on safety-net health care providers and directly contributes to inequities in the health care system. The Institute for Family Health and numerous other health centers across New York State are asking that state leaders raise the state Medicaid reimbursement rate for community health centers statewide.
