Institute staff collaborate with NY Senator Michelle Hinchey in menstrual product drive

May 30, 2023

On May 12, 2023, Institute staff were pleased to welcome New York State Senator Michelle Hinchey to the Family Practice Center of Hyde Park. For the past several weeks, Senator Hinchey and her staff have been leading a menstrual product drive, through which community members donated pads and tampons at various collection points in Ulster County. At the end of the drive, contributors donated over 2,000 individual products, which will be available for all who need them at three Institute sites: the Family Practice Center of Hyde Park, the Kingston Family Health Center, and the New Paltz Family Health Center.

Senator Hinchey has been a strong supporter of community health centers since she was elected in 2020, representing NYS Senate District 41. She also chairs the Senate Agriculture Committee.
