Have Medicaid? Changes are coming in 2027
June 25, 2026
Do you have Medicaid? Starting January 1, 2027, some people who have Medicaid coverage will need to show they are working, going to school, helping out in the community, or participating in job training to keep their health coverage. This is a new federal rule from the government called Work Requirements for Medicaid Coverage.
You can read more about the new Medicaid rules here in English and Spanish.
If you are currently enrolled in Medicaid, renew your coverage before the end of 2026. If you renew before the end of 2026, you will be covered throughout 2027 with no additional requirements. If you have questions about your eligibility or need help renewing, ask to speak to one of the Institute’s case managers.
Our staff will make every effort to help our patients keep their coverage. As always, patients can access care regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. No one is turned away.
