Get to know podiatry: care for your feet and ankles
December 19, 2024
Caring for your feet and ankles is an important part of your overall health. Your feet and ankles have 26 bones and 33 joints each, along with a complex layering of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and blood vessels. Foot and ankle health can affect your posture and ability to move, as well as provide clues to conditions in other parts of your body.
Our podiatrists (foot care specialists) can help diagnose and treat any issues you have with your feet or ankles.
We can help with:
- Arthritis
- Bunions and hammer toes
- Corns, calluses, and fungus
- Fractures and sprains
- Ingrown toenails
- Infections
- Flat feet and club feet
- Heel pain or discomfort
- Neuropathies (loss of feeling in feet)
- Foot care for people with diabetes, including annual exams
Our podiatrists can also help you get a referral for more specialized care if you need it.
We offer podiatry at some locations, some days of the week:
- All Mid-Hudson Valley health centers
- Bronx: Stevenson Family Health Center and Walton Family Health Center
- Manhattan: Family Health Center of Harlem
