Dr. Eric Gayle honored with two prestigious recognitions

May 10, 2024

The Institute is pleased to share that Dr. Eric Gayle, MD, has been inducted into the CUNY School of Medicine’s Alpha Omega Alpha Society. The Alpha Omega Alpha Society is a national medical honor society for medical students, faculty and clinicians who show commitment to professionalism, leadership, scholarship, research and community service.

Dr. Eric Gayle serves as the Institute’s President of Health Care Services and Chief Medical Officer. A graduate of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, he began his career in family medicine at the Institute’s Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Practice, where he was chief resident. After completing his training, Dr. Gayle joined the Institute in 1998. He has championed the development of a team-based health care model, promoting the integration of care coordinators into the Institute’s clinical operations. He is also an avid supporter of efforts to integrate primary care and behavioral health services in our practices. He previously led the Institute’s credentialing committee.

On Monday, May 6, Dr. Gayle also received the 2024 United Hospital Fund Tribute to Excellence in Health Care Award, which recognizes and nourishes health care innovation and improvement aimed at achieving the highest quality patient care.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Gayle for these achievements!
