Their presentation, entitled “Innovation, Reform, Best Practices and Challenges: NYC’s Response to People with Mental Illnesses in the Criminal Justice System,” will familiarize clinicians with the prevalence of mental illness in the New York City criminal justice system, describe the behavioral health reforms in Rikers Island jail, and address the role providers can have to support successful community reentry.
