A little about me

Born and raised in Kingston, I am the product of a large extended family from this area.  I was fortunate to go to Colgate University, where I received a well-rounded education and then served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Congo, teaching high school science. After working and studying at Harvard School of Public Health, I entered medical school to become a family doctor. We decided to return to Kingston after completing my residency training, so that our daughter could grow and thrive in this community.  The Institute for Family Health has provided a wonderful foundation to building my well-rounded career-caring for a diverse range of patients, providing a broad spectrum of services and assisting in the education of hundreds of residents and medical students. I’ve been able to remain active in many community organizations and activities, as well as advocacy for patients and family medicine at many levels.

Why I love my job

I love knowing that so many in this community trust me to be their doctor and seek my professional opinion at critical moments in their lives.  I always strive to uphold my oath to serve my patients to the best of my ability and pass on the lessons I’ve learned to the many learners who have come to us to receive their training. Seeing our graduates thrive is amazingly rewarding!
