A little about me

I like to approach my patients and their medical care with the mindset of being on the same team – discussions on the risks, the benefits, and what would work best for their lifestyle. As a teacher of family medicine, I try to pass my enthusiasm and passion for family medicine along to the doctors and students in training.

Why I love my job

I love what I do because I get to be there for my patients for every setback and difficulty and even better, I get to celebrate their victories and successes with them as well.

Professional experience & accomplishments

Dr. Cherian is a lifelong New Yorker – first in the Bronx, then Long Island and now the Hudson Valley for the last decade or so. She was enrolled in an accelerated Bachelors of Science/Doctor of Osteopathy program through the New York Institute of Technology and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. As a graduate of the Mid-Hudson Family Medicine program, she has stayed on after her training due to her passion for educating the next generation of primary care physicians. She sees patients out of the Hyde Park Family Practice site and enjoys her down time with her husband and two daughters.  The ability to care for multigenerational family units, the diversity of patients and pathologies and the challenges and rewards of teaching remain the most exciting parts of family medicine for her.
