Dr. Emilie Wasserman grew up in the Midwest, then followed their heart to New York City. They received their undergraduate degree in Women and Gender Studies from Hunter College before relocating to Western New York to attend the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Drawn to working with their hands, Dr. Wasserman spent three years as a surgical resident in Rochester before deciding to transition to Family Medicine as a way of centering medicine’s capacity for social justice in their work. Dr. Wasserman’s professional passions include LGBTQ Health, Reproductive Justice and Integrative Medicine. They are a certified yoga teacher. Outside of work, Dr. Wasserman enjoys visiting museums with their artist brother, listening to twangy live guitar, and spending time outdoors.
