Professional experience & accomplishments

Charmaine Ruddock, MS, has served as the project director for Bronx Health REACH since 2000. In this role, she is responsible for the day to day operations of the project, which includes overseeing community based prevention initiatives and public policy efforts. Since joining the Institute in 2000, Ms. Ruddock has worked with community groups, local government, and national organizations to implement Bronx Health REACH programs. She is a founding member of Not62: The Campaign for a Healthy Bronx and serves on the campaign’s Steering Committee. She also sits on the New York City Health and Hospitals (H+H) COVID-19 Test and Treat Corps’ Community Advisory Board (CAB); and serves on the Bronx Borough President’s Bronx Black Maternal Mortality Taskforce.

Ms. Ruddock is also the Chair of the Board of Directors of the National REACH Coalition and a member of the National COVID-19 Resiliency Network’s National Community Coalition Board and its Regional Community Coalition. In addition, Ms. Ruddock sits on the Strategy Group for the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health, as well as the Project RAPID National Task Force.

Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Ruddock administered health care services to underserved communities for more than 10 years, and was involved in the design, development, and operation of managed care organizations serving communities in New York City, Long Island and Connecticut.
