Dr. Victor Sta. Ana honored as keynote speaker at Mount Sinai’s White Coat Ceremony

Dr. Victor Sta. Ana, MD, FAAFP, gave the keynote speech at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s White Coat Ceremony, which welcomes the medical school’s class of 2026.
Dr. Sta. Ana is a family medicine physician and the chair of the Residency Curriculum Committee for the Institute’s Harlem Residency in Family Medicine. He serves as the medical director for the Institute’s Health Care for the Homeless program, which provides primary care and related services to people experiencing homelessness at six Manhattan locations. He is also the director of the Primary Care Scholars Program, working closely with the Icahn School of Medicine to create and develop comprehensive clinical, research and advocacy training for medical students who are interested in primary care for underserved communities.
In his speech, Dr. Sta. Ana encouraged the newest cohort of medical students to face the uncertainty ahead with humility and openness, and to use their privilege to change unjust systems.
