The Partnership for a Healthier New York City Holds 1st Annual Citywide Summit

New York, NY – on Thursday, July 11th, the Partnership for a Healthier NYC (the Partnership) brought together community partners from all five boroughs for their first annual citywide connect summit.  The summit included a social media training, networking activities and special acknowledgements of key community partners.  From the Bronx, the Partnership recognized Sarah Shaikh from Bon Secours NYC Healthy Communities Initiative.  Over the last year, Sarah has partnered with the Partnership for a Healthier Bronx at Bronx Health REACH/Institute for Family Health, Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, Bronx Community Board 8 and community members to improve access to healthier, fresh, affordable foods, reduce underage and excessive drinking, and increase opportunities for active living and recreation in the northwest Bronx, including creating a play street in Kingsbridge Heights! For more information about the Partnership for a Healthier NYC, please visit www.healthiernyc.org
