The Institute regularly collaborates with other health centers, policymakers, and community advocates to promote a just and equitable health care system for all. Our long history of providing health care in diverse New York communities informs these efforts. As one of the first Teaching Health Centers in the nation, we also have a unique perspective on workforce development strategies that promote equity.

What is a Teaching Health Center?
They're a solution to the crisis facing primary care in the United States: fewer and fewer medical school graduates are pursuing careers in primary care. Teaching Health Centers train the next generation of primary care providers ready to serve in low-income and other high need communities.
