Mid-Hudson Resident Presents at New York Society of Addiction Medicine Conference

Dr. Umara Saleem at 2018 NYSAM Conference

Last month, Dr. Umara Saleem, third-year resident in the Mid-Hudson Family Medicine Residency Program, presented at the 2018 NYSAM (NY Society of Addiction Medicine) conference. She presented on promoting Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) training in family medicine residency programs – using the Institute’s training curriculum as an example. She specifically presented research on how a large percentage of the residents with this training went on to provide MAT in their practice after residency.

The presentation was very well received. We are proud of the role the residency has played in training our residents in this essential skill.
